The Travel High School Basketball Program is a competitive, skill-focused program designed for athletes who are committed to enhancing their basketball abilities and competing at a higher level. Commitment is key, and players will need to travel to Parishes in Nassau and Suffolk counties for games.

To participate in the Travel High School Basketball Program, the Head Coach plays a critical role in organizing and managing the team. 

Coach Responsibilities: 

Roster Submission: The Head Coach must gather and submit a complete roster of a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 12 players to St. Rose CYO, ensuring that all players are committed to the program. 

Team Fee Collection: The Head Coach is responsible for collecting the team fee from all players. This fee helps cover program costs, including uniforms, equipment, and other related expenses.

Eligibility Verification: The Head Coach must contact St. Rose CYO Main Office to confirm that all players meet the required travel eligibility criteria before finalizing the roster. These requirements are enforced by CYOLI, and the Head Coach must ensure that every player is compliant before committing them to the program.

Details: 

• Open to boys and girls in grades 9 through 12. 

• Season: September through November. Games scheduled by CYOLI.  Practices scheduled by the head coach as needed. 

• Team Divisions: Division eligibility is determined based on the grade levels of the players on the team. 
• Tyro Division: For players in Grade 9 or Grade 10, or a combination of Grades 9 and 10. 
• Senior Division: Primarily for players in Grade 11 or Grade 12, or a combination of Grades 11 and 12. However, players in Grades 9 and 10 may also participate in the Senior Division if needed. Teams must compete in the Senior Division if they include at least one player in Grade 11 or 12.

• Travel jerseys (provided by St. Rose CYO) and solid black shorts (provided by the player) are required for games. Additional apparel is available for purchase through the St. Rose CYO online store, which will open before the season starts. 

• The team's season win/loss record will determine their participation in the single-elimination playoffs and championship game.

• Players participating in the Travel High School Basketball are also welcome to join the Intramural High School Basketball program. To participate in both, players must complete separate registrations for each program.
